Tip Tuesday-Two Ingredient Cookies

This recipe has been circulating quite a bit lately and if you haven't tried it I urge that you do!
It's for some of the healthiest, easy to make, and cheap cookies out there. All you need for this basic recipe are bananas and quick cook oats. That's it!

In a bowl mix one cup of quick cook oats with two large bananas. The bananas can be either new or old. The more ripe your bananas are the sweeter the cookies will be. The most fun part is mixing everything together. I find the best way is to just dig your hands in there and mash the bananas with your fists.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put wax paper on a cookie sheet and scoop the mixture into whatever sized balls you would like. Drop them on the cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.

They are quick, simple, guilt-free, and extremely versatile. You may keep them as basic as this or add any number of things to them.

To make mine even healthier I added ground flax seeds, protein powder, and powdered peanut butter. (What's that? Take a look here.)

Other ideas for add ons:
-Chocolate chips, dark, or semi-sweet
-Small pieces of walnuts
-Raisins
-Dried cranberries
-Dried blueberries
-Cinnamon
-Pecans
-Coconut flakes

This amount of ingredients made 12 small cookies for me. You can double the recipe if you would like to make more. They make good healthy but sweet snack and can be perfect for breakfast.

Another couple of variations for this cookie I found on The Burlap Bag. A couple other ways to make these cookies are to substitute one cup of real pumpkin puree for the banana. You'll get a different flavor and the same health factor. Also try pureed or very well mashed peaches as a sub for the bananas.
